January 2011 – Scottish Affairs–Scottish Policy Innovation Forum (SPIF): New Collaboration
The Editors of Scottish Affairs are delighted to announce a new and important collaboration with the Scottish Policy Innovation Forum (SPIF)
Founded in 1992, Scottish Affairs has become the leading forum for debate on Scottish current affairs.
In 2011, Scottish Affairs will be launching a new section of the journal dedicated to 'Debates on Policy'. This section will draw on recent debates on public policy issues
from the topical seminars that SPIF regularly organises.
In recent years, these debates have ranged from issues such as poverty reduction, early years education and health inequalities to challenges in public spending and public sector restructuring in a period of economic downturn. These seminars bring together policymakers and researchers to discuss new and innovative strategies for public policy, and feature presentations in which academics make policy recommendations. As of Issue 74 (the first issue of 2011), Scottish Affairs will include a series summarising these policy debates. It is intended that the journal will continue the debates sparked at SPIF meetings and extend these to a wider audience.
Launch of the Digital Archive, May 2009 (updated May 2010)
Scottish Affairs is proud to announce the launch of its 'Digital Archive', a rolling programme which will make the full contents of the journal freely available online. Funded through the generosity of The University of Edinburgh Campaign, the Archive will provide an unparalleled and rich resource on Scotland's social and political affairs from 1992 to the current day. The full text contents of issues 5 through 63 are available online now.
