Scottish Affairs accepts articles from a wide range of contributors including academics, journalists, lawyers, administrators, business people and politicians. (See below if you would like to submit a book for review in Scottish Affairs)

If you wish to submit an article:

  • Articles should normally be between 4-6000 words

  • Abstracts of about 200 words are requested. These are for publishing on the Scottish Affairs web pages, not in the journal.

Articles and abstracts may be submitted by email. Please read the full notes for contributors.

Email the whole article and the abstract as attachments to l.adams@ed.ac.uk. In the body of the email message, state:

  • what application (including version number) created the files
  • what type of computer

For example, Microsoft Word 97 (Windows), Microsoft Word 98 (Mac), Appleworks 5 (Mac) or Word Perfect 6 (Windows).

If there are problems with emailing you will be asked to send three paper copies and a disk

If you would like further information, please contact Lindsay Adams.
